India vs England 4th Test Day 2 Live Score Updates: Umesh removes Overton, England loses 4 wickets

Umesh Yadav took his second wicket of the match as he dismissed Craig Overton at the start of the second day of the fourth Test between India and England. It was outswingers from Umesh and Overton, who came out to bat as nightwatchmen on the first day, found a regulation at the outside edge, which was cornered by Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, India may have been bowled out for 191 in the first innings but Jasprit Bumrah made a stellar first day of the fourth Test at the Kennington Oval here on Thursday by dismissing England openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed.

At stumps, England are 53/3– still trailing by 138 runs with seven wickets in hand.

After bundled out India for 191, England had a poor start as openers Rory Burns (5) and Haseeb Hameed (0) were sent back to the pavilion by Jasprit Bumrah in the fourth over. Umesh Yadav got the big fish at the mouth of the stumps as he clean bowled England captain Joe Root (21) and the hosts were reduced to 52/3. In the end, Malan and Overton ensured that England didn’t lose too many wickets before stumps.

Earlier, Shardul Thakur may have scored 57 runs, but Chris Woakes four wickets helped England bundle out India for 191 runs. Ollie Robinson took three wickets, while James Anderson and Craig Overton returned with a wicket each.
