Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Today was the name of India in the Paralympic Games being played in Tokyo. In the morning first shooter Manish Narwal won the gold for India. After this, in the evening, Pramod Bhagat gave India gold in the badminton competition. In this way, India has got four gold medals till now. Apart from this, Singhraj won the bronze medal in the 50m air pistol event and Manoj Sarkar in badminton. In this way, India today captured a total of four medals including two gold.

Manish Narwal started

Shooter Manish Narwal won the first medal for the country in the Tokyo Paralympics today. Manish Narwal, a resident of Kathura village in Haryana, created history at the age of just 19. He won the gold medal in the final of the 50m air pistol event. Singhraj managed to win the bronze medal in the final of the same event.

Pramod Bhagat becomes first Indian to win gold in badminton

Badminton is making its debut at the Paralympic Games this year. Bhagat, the world’s number one player, thus became the first Indian to win a gold medal in the sport. He defeated Danian Bethel in straight games 21–14 and 21–17 in the final. At the same time, Manoj Sarkar of India also did wonders in the badminton competition. He won the bronze medal i.e. bronze medal. Manoj performed brilliantly to beat Daisuke Fujihara of Japan 22-20 and 21-13 in straight games.

India’s best performance

India now has a total of 17 medals in Tokyo Paralympics 2020. This is India’s best performance in the history of Paralympic Games. This number is expected to increase further on Sunday. India has so far won four gold, seven silver and six bronze medals. At the same time, India is at 26th position in the points table.
